Awethors Event: Interview with Elizabeth Horton-Newton

Our fourth awesome author in the countdown until the Get Down With The Awethors Facebook event on April 12 is Elizabeth Horton-Newton. Her debut historical mystery novel, View From the Sixth Floor: An Oswald Tale, is based on a series of “what ifs” centering around the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.

1. What will you be sharing with the group on April 12 at the Get Down With The Awethors event? Free book giveaway, sneak peek, merchandise, holding a competition, discussion?

I have a giveaway on Goodreads from April 1st through April 15th. Three entries will be chosen to receive a signed copy of my book, View From the Sixth Floor: An Oswald Tale.

2. What is your latest book or work, and where can we find it?

View From the Sixth Floor: An Oswald Tale is available on Amazon View_From_the_Sixth__Cover_for_Kindle (1)(http://amzn.to/1xm97s3) and Createspace (https://www.createspace.com/5010415).

3. What drives you to write? Music, an interest in the human mind, is it cathartic for you?

Since I was a small child I have had stories swimming around in my head. Sometimes these stories are stimulated by music, something I’ve read in the news, the name of a person or place, or a snippet of conversation I overhear. It is definitely cathartic for me to write. If I don’t write the stories down they haunt me until I let them out.

4. What’s your favorite book in the world? One you couldn’t imagine having lived your life without reading.

To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. I truly believe this is one of the best books ever written and certainly the best book ever written by an American author. I am a great Stephen King fan and love most of his books, but Harper Lee still holds the number one spot for me.

5. When will you be at the Awethors event on April 12? All day or at a certain time?

I will be available at the Awethors event on April 12th from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM EST.
